Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Explosive batsman who struck 148 in his fifth ODI in a home series against Pakistan in April 2005 and a match-winning 183 not out against Sri Lanka at home later that year to record the highest one-day score by a wicketkeeper. Hugely popular with fans for long hair and model looks and has a fleet of motorbikes. Has good temperament and can curb natural aggression when needed. The selectors, headed by chairman Dillip Vangsarkar, have named this Jharkhand lad, the current Twenty20 skipper, as captain of the Indian ODI team. He is also the vice-captain of the Test team.
